Privacy Policy
LetsSplitThis (letssplitthis.com) is a coordination tool for groups of friends who want to share ownership of physical items. This policy describes what information we collect, how we use it, and what we do not do with it.
What We Collect
- Email address. Required to create an account and to receive invitations to groups.
- Display name. A name you choose when signing up, shown to members of your groups.
- Group and purchase data. The groups you belong to, items your group adds ("dreams"), pledge amounts, comments, and links — all of which you create voluntarily.
- Invite records. When you invite someone to a group, we store their email address temporarily to process the invitation.
How We Use It
We use your information solely to operate the app: authenticating you, displaying your groups and purchase data, and sending transactional emails (invitations, account confirmation, password reset). We do not use your data for marketing, profiling, or any purpose beyond running the service, sending you updates on this privacy policy, or communicating regarding problems with the site.
What We Do Not Do
- We do not sell your data.
- We do not share your data with advertisers.
- We do not display advertising.
- We do not process payments. No financial data passes through LetsSplitThis.
- We do not set cookies. Session state is stored in your browser's local storage.
Local Storage
LetsSplitThis stores your authentication session and, temporarily, invite tokens in your browser's local storage. This data stays on your device and is used only to keep you signed in and to process group invitations. It is not transmitted to third parties.
Third-Party Services
We use a small number of third-party services to operate the app:
- Supabase — database and authentication. Your account data and group content are stored on Supabase infrastructure. Supabase Privacy Policy

- Netlify — web hosting. Netlify Privacy Policy
These services may collect standard server logs (IP addresses, request timestamps) as part of normal infrastructure operation. We do not control or have access to those logs.
Data Retention
Your data is retained for as long as your account is active. If you would like your account and associated data deleted, contact us and we will remove it promptly.
Children
LetsSplitThis is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Changes
If we make material changes to this policy, we will update the date above. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
